We spent a marvelous weekend at the Auberge de la Rive, in Sorel, on the St. Lawrence River banks. The hotel was super, the service impeccable, and the meals excellent.
The Friday night was very animated. People were really happy to renew. First, we had the great pleasure to welcome a couple from Ohio: Betty Vadner and her husband Richard Haas. Betty is genealogist since about forty years and she will publish a book about Vadnais family. Bravo Betty, and thank you for coming to meet us and share your discoveries with us.
We also could meet Richard Vadnais from Massachusetts, his wife Audrée, and also their daughter Nicole. Thanks to the three of you.
Of course, there were cousins from Maine: Raoul, Carol, Sandra, Scott, lways faithfull to our invitations. People from Cowansville, Montreal, Laval, St. Hyacinthe, Sorel, St. Eugene, Joliette, Île-Perrot were also at the meeting.
By the way, we missed "handsome Bernard", newly ordained priest. Let us wish that he will be with us next year. Clemence felt alone without her "guardian angel".
The weekend was entirely appreciated, but the cruise was undoubtedly the most thrilling activity of the weekend. Everyone sang and danced with the guitarist and seemed to fully enjoy themselves.
Let us also underline the supper-show with the "Crooners". Excellent show. For the meeting of Saturday afternoon, we met again Yvon, who told us about Laurier's discoveries, at the time of his recent trip to France. Thanks Yvon.
The "cards" prepared by Pauline and Catherine were very much appreciated. Thanks to their work, we could "see and follow" the different ancestry branches.
So we tell you see you next year, and thank you for having accepted our invitation. It is possible that we will go back at the same place next year. Send us your comments.
Thanks Cecile for having found this lovely place. You have a good taste, my dear Cecile!
Thank you all and see you again sometime.
